I want to share you the story of how Collaperty got started and how it got to where it is today. If you are reading this, you are most likely a real estate investor or have some level of interest in real estate. The Collaperty team, Rishi, Amit, and Afjal have been involved in real estate for over 10 years at various levels. Beyond our 9-5 job, we are real estate investors and enthusiasts. By no means are we experts, but we have invested in condominiums and multi-family rental properties in and around the Boston area.  After we completed our first project, we were hooked. But as you all know, it takes time, patience and persistence to build a real estate network, define a proven strategy, and find great real estate opportunities. Real estate is a highly competitive market. From bidding wars to deals falling apart in an instant, we have experienced it. But you learn and quickly move on to the next opportunity.

Prior to Collaperty, Rishi and Amit started ARP Ventures, a real estate investment company focused on investing in single and multi-family homes in the Greater Boston area.  Afjal, a fellow graduate and friend owns and manages a multi-family rental property in Everett, MA. Through many trial and errors we were able to slowly but gradually grow our network and real estate experience. Although the excitement of the real estate market continued to fuel our passion, there were few challenges that we continued to face:

 Lack of visibility of real estate investment opportunities
 Small network
 High capital barrier to entry
 Lack of real estate knowledge and experience

These obstacles kept us from getting into bigger deals. We knew that there had to be an easier and more effective means of reaching our real estate investment goals. To solve this problem and address a market gap that hindered our progress we started Collaperty-the first social commercial real estate network.

Collaperty is making real estate investing easier and a lot more accessible. The site is a meeting place for real estate Sponsors and Investors to come together to execute real estate projects. Sponsors are able to market a deal and recruit Investors, while Investors are able to find real estate deals, grow their network, and connect with experienced real estate professionals.

Our initial site release, expected to launch in February 2013 will address many common problems faced today in real estate. This will set the foundation for further developments which will make Collaperty a one-stop shop for commercial real estate investing.
