Sponsors

Looking to Raise Capital on Real Estate Projects

The Sponsor group consists of property builders and developers, real estate syndicators, and tenured investors.  Due to their experience, Sponsors see real estate opportunities where others may not. They bring real estate deals to Collaperty to recruit Investors and often have skin in the deal. They are responsible for executing the strategy, managing the property, and providing returns to Investors. Sponsors work closely with Investors to complete a real estate investment transaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between an Investor and a Sponsor?
The only fundamental difference between an Investor and a Sponsor is a Sponsor is able to post and market a deal, while an Investor does not have this ability. Sponsors are those who bring real estate opportunities to recruit potential Investors to fill funding gaps.

2. I fit both Investor and a Sponsor role, can I be both?
You may be both a real estate Investor and a real estate Sponsor. If this is the case, we recommend you sign up as a Sponsor. Sponsors who are accredited investors are able to see and invest in deals posted by other Sponsors.

3. I’m not an accredited investor, can I still join?
Yes. You do not have to be an accredited investor to join Collaperty. At this time the SEC only allows accredited investors to see and invest in the deals posted on Collaperty. But this may change soon with new regulations being finalized in crowdfunding. For non-accredited investors Collaperty allows you to grow your real estate network, participate in forum discussions, and even be blog contributors. We are keeping a close eye on crowdfunding developments and will keep you informed when non-accredited investors are able to access the deals posted on Collaperty.

Yes. The account you create has “Name” and “Organization” fields. You can you use your company information to populate the profile information.

5. I don’t live in the United States, can I join?
Yes. To be a member you don’t have to live in the United States. However, all deals at this time must be in the United States.
